SHOULD A ELDERLY PERSON BE “BEHIND THE WHEEL?”

The question is, should a elderly person be behind the wheel? Well I don’t think so, especially after hearing about this sad case. I’ve seen this a lot when I’m driving. For example, I was in Buckhead a few days ago and I saw two elderly folks in a car barely seeing over the steering wheel driving like 4mph in a 35mph lane, or another example, elderly folks behind the wheel with those big black shades on after they have just got there eyes dilated. No disrespect to the elderly, but this is serious. At a certain age there needs to be an revaluation to see if a elderly person can handle the vehicle and the road.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — An 82-year-old driver who struck and killed a 5-year-old child exiting a school bus in Cobb County has been arrested and charged with vehicular homicide.
A family member who spoke to Channel 2 Action News reporter Richard Elliot on Thursday identified the victim as Karla Campos. He also gave Elliot several pictures of the little girl.

The driver of the car, Edith M. Anderson, 82, of Roswell, was not injured Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened on Davis Road at Aberdeen Court around 2:30 p.m.
Police said the 5-year-old girl was transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, where she later died.
Officials said the 5-year-old Mountain View Elementary School kindergarten student was getting off the bus when Anderson lost control of her Nissan Altima as she came up behind the bus, ran up on the sidewalk, struck the girl and stopped in a front yard.
“They had paramedics all around (the student),” said neighbor Susan Shaylor. “You couldn’t see her. They had everybody around her. They literally all picked her up and got her in the ambulance and left.”

A young student described the driver. “The woman got out of the car, she was very old, she had a cane. She didn’t want to talk to anybody,” said student Ethan Orrell.
Anderson was released on $5,000 bond.

R.KELLY ADRESSES TREA SONGZ COMMENT

I just have to say that I’m on R.kelly’s side with this one. It seems like some of today’s artist have no respect for the artist that have paved the way for them to be even doing what there doing now. I like Trey Songz album but, dam! lets keep it all the way 100, He hasn’t even scratched the surface of what R.Kelly has done and in todays market he probably won’t. Real talk, Trey has a very good album but when I first heard it along with a lot of other people I know, were like dam! this sounds like something that R. Kelly would do. On top of that, he has one of the hottest songwriters that I admire and respect, on his album that derives from talents like R.Kelly, and I will keep the writers name anonymous, but I’m sure folks will be able to figure out who I’m talking about.

All I’m saying is have some humility. That’s like saying something negative about significant people who paved the way and open up doors for other people. Throw that ego sh*% out the window.
